On June 20, 2001, at the request of LRD, the Protein Research Division was transferred to the D. Collen Research Foundation. This transfer involved the activities of the Protein Research Division including staff and equipment, patents and patent-applications, and part of the operating funds. But also the current research and license agreements with and for the KU Leuven and with third-party contract beneficiaries.
LSRP was mandated by KU Leuven to manage the technology transfer and valorization of the Center for Molecular and Vascular Biology, as well as the Vesalius Research Center of VIB/KU Leuven. Consequently, LSRP acts as bookkeeper for the beneficiaries of funds they generated.
